10. I discovered that I can not complete my Good Reads challenge and not care, much. I’ve read enough satisfying quality in the last year, that the quantity doesn’t matter.
9. I’ll always choose variety over sticking with a single author, series or genre. Not so much a discovery since I’ve practiced this habit awhile, just putting it out there so you know.
8. Technically, I’ve been a fan of The Melting Library’s products for a couple years now, but I’m extra delighted by the studio’s new line of candles coordinating with the chapters of the Harry Potter books.
7. Julie from The Bookish Den is unstoppable with her brilliant engraved bookmark designs. Looking forward to acquiring more.
6. I guess I do like the fantasy/supernatural genre more than I ever anticipated. Some favorite recent reads include: The Name of the Wind, The Lord of the Rings and the Arc of the Scythe series. Who even am I?
5. Audible has improved my reading life. The service makes listening to audio books extremely satisfying which makes my work day go by faster. Win-win.
4. Increasing listening speed on aforementioned audiobooks means I can read more books, quicker. Mostly 1.25x’s quicker. Game changer.

You know, as someone who is slightly dyslexic, audiobooks could be a way to speed up my reading, but… I never seem to have time to listen to them!

I bet it would help you. I used to work in classroom intervention and had success with students who listened to an audio version in a quiet setting who found it too difficult to read for a length of time.
I’m fortunate in that, just this year I’ve moved to a job where I can listen to audiobooks for 70% of my day if I wish. It’s definitely a benefit. I also always listen while doing the dishes or when I’m cooking/gardening-makes those chores go by in no time:)

Listening to audiobooks has definitely been a game changer for me. I have managed to up my audiobook listening speed to 2x and honestly, anything slower sounds weird now. Great post!

I can only manage 1.5x’s faster at most or else I spend too much time rewinding, especially in my office when my coworkers may need my attention. I know what you mean about slower sounding weird though, occasionally I listen to borrowed cds in the car and can’t change the speed-too slow!

I know, sorry bout that! Those online book thrift shops can be addicting. I even stopped following them for awhile because it is HARD resisting the deals. Best of luck:)
